The Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University on Wednesday conferred former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee with an honorary Doctor of Letters (D. Litt.) degree at his residence in the national capital.
"The entire state cabinet has come to honour Vajpayee ji with the D. Litt. Degree. It is a gift not just from the ministers but from the entire population of Madhya Pradesh. He has worked for the happiness of the people," Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who personally handed over the honorary degree, said.
"We have Vajpayee ji's blessings and we will work efficiently in Madhya Pradesh. We are happy that when we went, he was happy to see us," he added.
