Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and tennis ace Sania Mirza have shared their views about climate change and its adverse effects on the environment.
They have also urged their fans to support Earth Hour, a humble step towards a greener environment for future generations.
Recently, Sania took to her Twitter handle and urged her fans and citizens to sign up for Earth Hour, writing, "The future depends on what we do today. Be part of making #climatechange history! Signup for #EarthHour2016 at http://earthhour.in.'
Amitabh also took to his Twitter handle and urged his followers to participate and celebrate Earth Hour with their loved ones, writing, "T 2176-Support # EarthHour2016 watch #IndVSPAK with friends on one screen , join campaign #ToghervsClimate Change.
He also tweeted, "T 2179 - Earth Hour is today. Switch off and sign up to make #climatechange history at http://www.earthhour.in ."
Among the lot was also cricket's rising-star, Shikhar Dhawan who stated, "I believe climate change is the biggest global problem that we face today. It is a problem that we need to solve together. Like cricket, Earth Hour brings people together.
"I would urge people to come together and find newer, smarter ways to help save the planet." He also urged cricket fans all over the country to switch off all other non-essential lights for the hour and watch the historic India Pakistan T20 ICC World Cup match scheduled for 19 March.
Earth Hour 2016 will be celebrated today from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time.
