Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah has arrived at the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) headquarters situated in the city's Mahal area for talks.

He also paid his respects at the 'Smruti Mandir' in Reshimbagh.

Shah is expected to meet RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi. The meeting assumes significance in view of the forthcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra.

Shah, a close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took over as BJP president on July 10 from his predecessor and now Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
