Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy said that the former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee or BJP patriarch L.K. Advani do not need validation from Owaisi.
"In his speech, Asaduddin Owaisi said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee is against the Muslims. He has no rights to criticise Vajpayee ji. The country knows of what Vajpayee ji is. Vajpayeeji, Advaniji or the public do not want any certificate from Owaisi," Reddy said.
"Such a person should be arrested and action should be taken against him. He should not be given any recognition by the Speaker as well as the Election Commission," he added.
Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also took a swipe at Owaisi for his remarks.
Earlier today, Owaisi questioned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's decision to confer the Bharat Ratna upon former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and give the Padma Vibhushan to BJP veteran L.K. Advani, alleging that the two played a role in the Babri Masjid demolition.
President Pranab Mukherjee had earlier this year conferred the two leaders with the honours.
