The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday slammed Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati for criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling poll promises and said the saffron party is the only option for Uttar Pradesh which will provide good governance.
BJP leader Shaina NC condemned the death of three persons during Mayawati's political rally and said that the BSP supremo has no position to point fingers at the BJP.
"Look at the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, You have three people who die in a political rally and then you have the leader of the BSP commenting on the BJP," said NC.
"If at all, the people of Uttar Pradesh know that the only option to good governance, law and order situation and a stable leadership is that of the BJP in the days to come," she added.
Mayawati at a rally in Lucknow yesterday said that Prime Minister Modi's visit to the state capital to attend Dussehra celebrations was "politically motivated".
The BSP chief also claimed that minorities were facing bias under the Modi government and sought the support of Muslims to "stop" the saffron party..
