Jamaican sprinting star Usain Bolt has said that he is planning to retire from athletics after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
According to The Guardian, however, Bolt, who is has won six Olympic golds and eight world championship golds, intends to keep performing at the highest level for another three years.
Stating that he is thinking of retiring after the Rio Olympics, Bolt said that if he is in a good shape and can achieve his wish list at the event, he could retire satisfied that he is still on top and has dominated the sport for a long time.
Although Bolt was struggling to find the motivation to go out and conquer the world of sprinting again earlier in the season, he, however, said that he has made up his mind to continue dominating until he retires by focusing on getting every season correct and keeping away from injuries so that he can be in the same league as other world legends.
Dismissing disgraced former Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson's suggestion that he could have beaten Bolt had they been running at the same time, Bolt also said that Johnson was just trying to get media attention with his statement.
