West Indies cricket team legend Brian Lara has tipped the nation's current crop of players to upset New Zealand in their World Cup quarterfinal tie in Wellington on Saturday because he believes that they have got the team to do so.

Lara believes that the Windies have the team to beat New Zealand though he suggested shuffling the batting line-up to negate New Zealand's impressive bowling attack.

Lara said that he feels a bit patriotic, but added that he sees West Indies beating New Zealand in Wellington because they have the team, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Lara has also liked the early signs of promise under new skipper Jason Holder who was controversially appointed to replace Dwyane Bravo. He said that he is a Holder fan, adding that he likes his approach to leadership and the way he has gone about his game.

Lara, who still owns the record for a Test innings with his unbeaten 400 against England in 2004, said that he can see Holder developing into the kind of leader who would give years of service to West Indies cricket, given the right kind of support.

However, with the crunch quarterfinal tie lingering, Lara suggests some tinkering to improve West Indies' chances against New Zealand. He suggested Johnson Charles should replace the struggling Dwayne Smith at the top of the order to partner Chris Gayle.

And the former big-hitting batsman believes that there needed to be an adjustment at the important number three position in the batting order. He said that West Indies have to bat technically better batsmen at three, someone like a Denesh Ramdin or Lendl Simmons.
