A bride here refused to marry the groom after he allegedly came drunk to the wedding ceremony late on Friday evening.
"The groom and his family were badly drunk. The groom was unable to stand and was constantly falling to the ground," the mother of the bride told ANI.
"I have given a dowry worth lakhs but the groom wanted one lakh rupees in cash and a car. He made these demands in front of the villagers," she added.
The bride refused to marry the man and her family held groom's family hostage. Later, the police reached the wedding venue and freed the family.
The groom has been taken into custody on the complaint of bride's family. Further investigation is underway.
