Roofer Keith Saunders recently smashed the world record for ladder climbing at Salisbury Fire Station.
The 46-year-old trudged up 10.5m (34ft) ladder and slid back down a pole more than 1,000 times to notch up 43,435 feet, the equivalent of scaling the Himalayan peak one-and-a-half times, the Metro reported.
Saunders started his 24-hour stunt to break the previous record by 120m (394ft) and raised 1,800 euros for Raleigh International, a charity that works in poor areas.
The roofer said that he was nowphysically and emotionally drained, so he was going to spend the next couple of days savoring and recovering from the climb.
