The debate over banning burqa in the Parliament House seems to be the hottest topic in Britain currently.

According to News.com.au, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said that he finds burqas confronting and wishes they weren't worn. But he insists the debate over a burqa ban at Parliament House should be treated as a matter of security.

Abbott made the remark after his Chief of Staff supported the ban of the traditional Muslim clothing at Parliament House earlier.

The Prime Minister said that though he wished that the burqa was not worn, it was not the government's business to tell people what they should wear and what they should not.

However, he said that it should be governed by the rules that are appropriate for a secure building and that people need to be identifiable in a secure building such as the Parliament House.
