CA facing 'civil unrest' with Oz curators over production of batsman-friendly pitches

Cricket Australia (CA) is reportedly facing a 'civil unrest' with the country's top pitch-makers following a controversial directive to produce Test-standard domestic wickets in a bid to improve the country's batting stocks.

Australia's curators entered the firing line for producing juiced-up domestic pitches that are potentially hampering the development of Test batsmen, with a recent finding saying that Australia's Test winning percentage rises from 34.3 per cent to 53.9 per cent when one top-six batsman scores a century.

According to News.com.au, the Australian curators are fuming over the CA verdict to deliver more batter-friendly wickets, with veteran Gabba curator Kevin Mitchell Jr saying that the push for flatter decks could be a recipe for disaster, adding that the edict feels like CA is kicking them in the guts.

Mitchell further said that they have basically been given a directive to produce Test-standard wickets and will now be preparing five-day wickets for a four-day contest.
