Canada will launch a new electronic system called Express Entry in January 2015. It will manage applications for permanent residence in certain economic programs and will be a much faster, more effective, and more efficient way to welcome economic immigrants to Canada than any tool that existed before.

The Express Entry system will apply in the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.

Provinces and territories will be able to recruit Express Entry candidates for a portion of their Provincial Nominee Programs to meet local labour market needs.
