Security and strategic analyst C Uday Bhaskar on Thursday said ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops must not be taken lightly.
"The news of ceasefire violation in Akhnoor, and especially after flag meeting, must not be taken lightly because, without any backing from Pakistan's Army, whether on the Line of Control or International Border, such incidents cannot take place there," he said.
Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar said the whole issue requires political back up.
"The government should keep the talks on. And, if after yesterday's meeting it has been violated then talks should take place again that from which side it is restarting, the government must find out. Also, unless there is political back up, this problem cannot be resolved," he said.
A fresh round of ceasefire violations by Pakistan took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor sector late Wednesday following which the Border Security Force (BSF) troops also retaliated.
The ceasefire violations took place just hours after the BSF and Pakistan Rangers held a flag meeting to defuse tensions between the two sides.
