His death in 1994 may have left the Indian music industry in grief, but even after over two decades, R.D. Burman's soulful melodies continue to inspire musicians, as a result of which fans are celebrating his 76th anniversary today.
To mark the legend's birth anniversary, fans have trended "#HappyBirthdayRDBurman" on social networking site Twitter.
Remembering the 'Tere Bina Zindagi Se' hit-maker, Abhishek Bachchan too shared his song 'Hoga Tumse Pyara Kaun' as the song of the day along with the trending hashtag to mark his birthday.
Giving a kick of laughter to the celebration, one of Barman's fan tweeted, "When RD Burman was born, doctor ne kaha tha- "tum aa gaye ho, noor aa gaya hai..." #HappyBirthdayRDBurman"
Fondly called as Pancham Da, the veteran music director, who graced the Indian film industry over the years, passed away at the age of 54 in Mumbai. Some of his timeless melodies include 'Phoolon Ka Taron Ka,' 'Chura Lia Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko' and 'Mehbooba Mehbooba.
