Charlie Hebdo cartoonist Luz to quit magazine

Renald Luzier, the cartoonist who designed the front page of the Charlie Hebdo issue in the aftermath of the attack on the magazine's Paris office, has announced that he will leave the publication.

Luzier, who also known as 'Luz', said that his job had become "too much to bear" following the deaths of his colleagues, and added that his resignation was "a very personal choice", reported the BBC.

Luz said that spending sleepless nights wondering what "Charb, Cabu, Honore, Tignous would have done is exhausting".

Twelve people were shot dead by two masked gunmen at Charlie Hebdo's office on January 7. The terror attack sparked a wave of sympathy and people declared their support for the magazine under the banner, 'Je suis Charlie'.
