Taking speedcubing to a new level, a youth from Chennai has entered the Guinness Book of world records by solving five Rubik's cubes single-handedly in just over a minute.
Bhargav Narasimhan from Chennai solved five Rubik's cube in 1.23.934 minutes. Hence, he broke the existing record of 1.52 minutes held by Tumu Tabuchi of Japan.
"I started dedicatedly working on the cubes five years ago, when I was 17," said Narasimhan.
"The previous record was set by Yumu Tabuchi which was 1.52 minutes. My record is 1.23.934 minutes. I feel very happy that I have done it for the nation," he added.
Presently, he holds more than 40 national records and two Asian records for solving Rubik's Cube single-handedly.
Since its inception in the 1980s, Rubik Cube has intrigued children and elders alike. The fascination with the red-blue-green-yellow-white-orange angular plastic cube is such that there is a global community of speedcubers today.
