Chhath declared public holiday in New Delhi

Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday announced the declaration of Chhath Puja as a public holiday in the national capital.

"The Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to declare Wednesday, October 29 as a holiday in all government offices under the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, on account of Chhath Puja," a statement from Jung's office stated.

All New Delhi government offices will be shut on Wednesday.

Last year, Chhath Puja had been declared a restricted holiday.
