The Chinese military has slammed a defense paper released by Japan, which has questioned intrusions by Chinese government ships into Japanese waters around the Senkaku Islands, in a statement brought out by a Ministry of National Defense Spokesman.
According to The Japan Times, Geng Yansheng argued in a statement released Thursday night that the new edition of Japan's defense white paper deliberately ignores facts and plays up 'China's military threat, making groundless accusations against China's legitimate conduct for safeguarding national sovereignty.
The report said that the ministry had lodged a protest with Japan, while Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also criticized the Japanese report at her regular press conference on Tuesday.
The Japanese-administered islets are claimed by China, which calls them Diaoyu, and Taiwan, which calls them Tiaoyutai, the report added.
