Chris Brown has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day and will be allowed to take a shower every two days in jail.

According to TMZ, the 24-year-old American recording artist has been locked in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day and will only be able to wash every 48 hours, after a judge ruled that he has the "inability to stay out of trouble", the Mirror reported.

Sources revealed that he is allowed to work out in his cell and can read library books for the next one month until his April 23 probation violation hearing.

Brown had been arrested after being kicked out of his court-ordered drug rehab program for violating four in-house rules, including inappropriately touching a female client on the elbow.
