Minister of State for Coal, Power and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said that coal production in the country had risen considerably in the last one year, and added that production has increased by 11.7 percent during the first 57 days of this year.
Stressing on the Central Government' commitment to ensure 24 x 7 power supply in all parts of the country in the next five years, Goyal said that 22,566 Mega Watts of power generation capacity was added in the last one year.
The minister also released an e-book titled 'Ujjwal Bharat', which highlights the achievements of Ministries of Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy in the last one year. He also launched a unified website of the ministries.
