Holding the Haryana Government responsible for the killing of two children of a Dalit family at Ballabhgarh, Congress leader P.C. Chacko on Wednesday alleged that caste conflicts and communal tensions are on the rise ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took the reign of the state.

"It was a horrible incident. The saffron party's agenda is to create a caste polarisation in the state," said Chacko.

"It is a miserable failure of law and order and the government machinery in Haryana. M. L. Khattar has no moral authority responsibility to continue as the Chief Minister of Haryana," he added.

Meanwhile, Khattar has postponed his visit to Sunpedh, a village in Faridabad, to meet the bereaved family members.

Tension prevailed in the area after villagers blocked the Faridabad-Ballabhgarh highway, demanding the arrest of the perpetrators. The villagers placed the corpses of the children on the highway and sat in protest.

The mother of the victim is battling for life at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.
