Senior Congress leader and former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said Monday that the Congress has always bounced back every time after lagging behind in the election race.
Addressing party workers for the first time after the December 8 election results, Dikshit exhorted them to sincerely work together to ensure thumping victories in times to come.
Dikshit addressed around 800 active Congress workers from the Rajinder Nagar assembly segment and stated that she has all faith in the capabilities of the workers.
She further expressed her thanks to the workers for their valuable contribution in elections.
Claiming that the party has been consistently working for the people, she went on to say that an apprehension is seemingly going to be reality, as an era of instability is hovering over the national capital.
She predicted that the next few months would witness slow pace in terms of ongoing infrastructural projects.
Dikshit also stated that there is no point in the workers being disappointed. NOw was the time to take a vow to work hard sincerely to ensure the party's return to power.
She also criticised the BJP and AAP for running away from their responsibilities in terms of government formation.
She claimed that both of these parties had made impossible promises to the people during the elections.
Ramakant Goswami, who also attended the event, said the Congress has never disappeared from the political scenario after facing a defeat in an election.
He said the Congress would continue to serve the people, whether it is in power or in the opposition.
