Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday trained guns at the Congress and said that the grand old party was making desperate attempts to derail the government's agenda of development.

"The entire effort is to derail the developmental agenda of the Narendra Modi-led government. We have a vested interest in peace because without peace there is no progress. The purpose of the book is to show both sides of the story," Naidu said.

"In the last 60 years, the other side view was never allowed to have full say because the entire government machinery was under the control of the Congress Party and the other side was occupied by the Left-oriented people," he added.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) earlier in the day released a book 'Know the Trust' at the party headquarters here.

The release of this book comes at a time when the Congress has stepped its attack on the BJP-led NDA Government in wake of the growing intolerance in the nation.

Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had led her party delegation to the Rashtrapati Bhawan to express concern over the 'growing intolerance' in the country.

She alleged that those in power are attempting to spread hatred and divide the society while lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the entire sequence of events.
