Kathmandu [Nepal], Mar.2 (ANI): Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday said that the Constitution Amendment Bill tabled in parliament will fail if it is put to vote under the current situation.
He made this statement during a meeting with the office bearers of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NFIN) at his official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Thursday.
Saying that the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has clearly said that it will not vote for the amendment bill at the present situation, Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), clarified that the bill will fail if put to vote.
Prime Minister Dahal had summoned the leaders of ruling parties on Wednesday to discuss the ways to end the current political imbroglio.
"We should think about the consequences before putting the bill to vote in the Parliament," PM Dahal said, adding, "We have to move ahead by resolving the problems."
"The Constitution of 1990 would come into effect if the new Constitution could not be implemented and if the disgruntled political parties stood against the new constitution," he said.
While receiving the memorandum of the NFIN, Dahal assured that he will stop the process to scrap National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN).
