A Court of Inquiry was instituted against Major Leetul Gogoi, who tied a stone-pelter in front of his jeep to safeguard few Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) jawans.
The inquiry is being headed by an officer of the rank of Colonel.
The report is expected to be submitted within a month.
Earlier on Friday Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S.P. Vaid informed that no one had approached the police then in connection with the video showing a youth tied allegedly to an army jeep as a human shield against stone-pelting.
He, however, added the Indian Army is doing its own investigation into the same.
Vaid told ANI, "I did see the video. No one has approached the police yet."
The video was reportedly shot in Beerwah area of Budgam district where the miscreants disrupted polling during April 9 by-polls to the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency by pelting stones.
