Cricket South Africa (CSA) has agreed to suspend its CEO Haroon Lorgat for the duration of India's tour of South Africa in December with an ICC inquiry pending into allegations against him.
According to Sport24, the month-long tour is now likely to comprise of a mere two Tests and three ODIs, much less than the three Tests, seven ODIs and three T20s initially planned.
India's tour of South Africa will take place on a lesser scale than initially intended, the report said.
Lorgat will not be dealing with matters related to India and the ICC pending an inquiry into allegations against him, the report added.
The allegations stem from his role in a statement issued by David Becker, a former legal head of the ICC that the BCCI's flouting of the Future Tours Programme (FTP) could have legal implications, the report further said.
Lorgat is now expected to be suspended from two of the most important responsibilities of his job but would continue to take care of all the domestic affairs at CSA, according to the report.
The three ODIs will be played first, with the two-Test series and visit as a whole ending with the Boxing Day Test, which means there will be no traditional New Year's Test at Newlands, the report mentioned.
