Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir on Friday said Jammu and Kashmir interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma had a free hand and certainly, had a plan to take forward the talk with the separatists in the valley.
"Dineshwar Sharma is going to Jammu and Kashmir for the first time and he certainly has a plan. He has a free-hand in what he is doing. If not in this round, this will happen in the second round. He only has to take the talks forward," Ahir told ANI.
Earlier on Wednesday, the newly appointed J-K interlocutor said he was positive about the talks with all the stakeholders over the Kashmir issue, even as the Hurriyat Conference, one of the stakeholders, rejected the dialogue on the same, citing that the Centre does not understand the ground reality of Kashmir, which will negate the purpose of any such dialogue.
The Centre had appointed Sharma as its representative for a "sustained dialogue with all stakeholders" to find a political solution to the Kashmir issue.
