The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday downplayed the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threat to all Pakistani actors to leave India or face consequences and said sensational comments to gain political mileage will not help at a time when the nation stands united to fight terrorism.
BJP's Shaina NC told ANI that there is no space for 'dadagiri' politics at a time when the nation stands united to fight terrorism.
"What is our priority? To get rid of terror and terrorists and if that is a priority, every political party should join this country in this united fight," Shaina said
."For those who are only into making sensational comments, I would only like to say time is running out but please don't let your ideology take you in the wrong direction because we all believe that Pakistani artists have no space at this time, it is a matter of emotion, but the matter of priority is to fight terror," she added.
The BJP leader further said there is no place for regressive comment at this point of time when the entire nation is charged to fight terror unitedly.
"Making dramatic statements only for political gain is something the public sees through. We all have an emotion, which is that Pakistani artists at this juncture should not be on Indian soil, but that can be fought through a democratic legal process," said Shaina.
"I don't think this is the time to deflect. If you want to be proactive, join this movement, don't break the movement," she added.
The MNS' orders, backed by Shiv Sena, came after tension between the two Asian neighbours escalated to a new level post the killing of 18 Army personnel in a dastardly terror attack on an army base camp in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
