Ivorian star footballer Didier Drogba, who won 10 trophies at Chelsea from 2004 to 2012, has re-signed boss Jose Mourinho's side on a one-year deal.

Drogba, who had been a free agent after leaving Galatasaray, told Chelsea's official site that it was an easy decision and he could not turn down the opportunity to work with Mourinho again.

Mourinho had earlier said that the striker belongs at Stamford Bridge, but that any deal would be made in a non-emotional way, The BBC reported.

Drogba said that everyone knows the special relationship he has with Chelsea and it has always felt like home to him, adding that his desire to win is still the same and he looks forward to the opportunity to help Mourinho's team.

Mourinho said that Drogba is coming because he's one of the best strikers in Europe. The manager added that he knows the striker's personality very well and he knows that if he comes back he is not protected by history or what he has done for the club previously.

Mourinho said that Drogba is coming to Chelsea with the mentality to make more history.
