Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius was reportedly drunk and had half-naked girls bouncing on his knee just before his nightclub brawl, it has been claimed.
Revellers told that Pistorius was 'flat out drunk' after having tequila shots with a notorious knife-attacker friend, but the mood turned ugly as the double amputee clashed with racing driver Jared Mortimer.
Pistorius, who is on bail accused of murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, claimed that Mortimer had pushed him over in Johannesburg's VIP Room nightspot, but the racing driver accused the athlete of being 'very aggressive' and then insulting South African President Jacob Zuma, The Daily Star reported.
Pistorius' family insisted that the incident was an example of the London 2012 Paralympics star's self-harming behaviour and said that he should get sympathy instead of being criticised.
Pistorius' family said that he is grappling with an extreme level of emotional pain that is manifesting itself in some of his recent unwise actions and choices.
The Blade Runner's uncle Leo admitted that it had been 'unwise of the athlete to go to the nightclub with former bouncer turned pro poker player Guil Yahav, who once slashed another man's face with a knife, but added that Pistorius is grappling with an extreme level of emotional pain that is manifesting itself in some of his recent unwise actions and choices.
Pistorius, who is on trial for shooting Steenkamp, denies murdering his girlfriend at their Pretoria home on Valentine's Day last year, saying that he shot her because he thought she was a burglar.
