An easy access to Google's email service Gmail has been reportedly blocked in China for some time.
According to BBC, locals said that they are still able to use third-party apps like Microsoft Outlook. However, using Gmail via Google's site has been impossible for a while.
Google' data indicates that such traffic got even worse on Friday and has remained stagnant since.
Google officials said that there was no issue known as yet with the company's provision of Gmail.
Meadows, a spokesman for Google Asia Pacific said that there was nothing wrong on their end as far as technical issues were concerned.
Jeremy Goldkorn, founder of Beijing-based media tracker Danwei said that the Chinese government has been aggressive about its "internet sovereignty" and positive about censorship of internet.
However, Chinese government has neither denied nor confirmed that the issue was a result of fresh restrictions.
