Following a national daily's revelation indicating that Congress veteran Ajit Jogi was allegedly involved in a deal to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Antagarh assembly by election in 2014, the Election Commission on Wednesday directed the Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary to conduct an enquiry into the matter and ordered to submit a report by January 7th.

Meanwhile, the Congress demanded Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh's resignation and also demanded an SIT probe and issued a show-cause notice to Ajit Jogi's son Amit Jogi.

Amit Jogi said today that he would file an FIR under the IT Act with the Cyber Crime division of the Bilaspur Police to unmask the conspirators active against his family.

"Charges levelled against my father are baseless, and the basis on which the allegations are made are baseless too. The audio-recording of which they are talking about is totally doctored and fabricated, and having no evidential value," Jogi said.

Earlier today, a national daily published transcripts of telephonic conversations involving Ajit Jogi and his son Amit Jogi talking to Puneet Gupta-Raman Singh's son-in-law to allegedly make Congress candidate Manuturam Pawar withdraw from the polls.
