The Real Slim Shady, Eminem, has finally released his highly-anticipated album 'Revival' and it has seemed to received a lukewarm reception from the rapper's fans.
The Detroit rapper released his album on Friday and tweeted a clip of 'River' and a link to download the tracks.
Plenty of fans took to Twitter late Thursday to provide real-time reviews of the recording, which had a special Twitter icon to commemorate its release.
One user wrote, "So I present a thread. I listened through #Revival and I've got to say.. I'm very disappointed. As an Eminem fan borderline Stan, I expected much more. I won't be talking about Walk On Water and Untouchable.. Just my general thoughts on the album"
Another user called out the entertainer for a lack of originality, saying, "Revival leaked and it really might be one of Eminem's worst albums. It's REALLY bad. The features are as terrible as we all thought, the production is garbage (lots of pop & rock s***) and lyrically he's rehashing stuff we've already heard from him."
Not all of the returns were thumbs down, as some fans were overjoyed with the musical artist's latest offering to the public.
A Twitter user wrote, "ALBUM OF THE CENTURY."
"Finished #REVIVAL This album is one of Eminem's best. He mixes the playfulness of Shady w/ his maturity, thoughts on fame&being a father&the political-social status of the U.S. Addresses his history with depression&addiction. It is refreshing&relatable, empowering & emotional," wrote another user.
Another user tweeted, "I have to say it, revival is a masterpiece and eminem is one of the most talented artists ever. #Revival #Eminem."
Weighing in with 19 tracks - including a collaboration with Ed Sheeran on 'River' - 'Revival' is his first studio album since The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013.
