Indian head coach Ravi Shastri on Wednesday said that the team is striving to be the best traveling side in the world and they are on the right track to achieve the same. The comment came after India registered their first Test victory in the ongoing five-match series against England.
"Endeavour of this team is to be the best traveling team in the world and I believe we are almost there. If we play in conditions suitable to us, there are very few teams to have a sniff but to go to South Africa, England, Australia and trying to win test there is something we are striving for," Shastri said in the post-match press conference.
Reflecting on the team's performance in the recently concluded third test, Shastri said that this was one of their best clinical shows as they nailed it in every department of the game.
"Among the team's clinical performances this is the best. They stood up in all the three departments. Be it batting, bowling or fielding. You can't ask for anything more," he said.
The coach refused to comment on their remaining two Test matches and asserted that they are taking one game at a time.
After trailing the series 0-2, India produced a stunning turnaround as they registered a thumping 203 runs victory against England.
India will now take on England in the fourth Test which is slated to be held from August 30 to September 3 at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Hampshire.
