The Delhi Police on Monday said it was under the impression that energy consultant Lokesh, who has been arrested in connection with the espionage case, was active in two or three ministries and sold the procured official papers to other firms also.
"We came to know that Lokesh was active probably in two or three ministries and was giving out information to four or five companies," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav told the media here.
"He was not only active in Petroleum but was also procuring documents from Coal and Power Ministries. The documents were further distributed to the firms of Shantanu Saikia [Indian Petro] and Prayas Jain [Metis Solutions] apart from giving documents to Infraline," he added.
Earlier in the day, few others were also detained in the espionage case.
"Today some six to seven people have been detained, out of them three to four were related to Lokesh and other persons were from the first FIR [Petroleum Ministry]," Yadav said.
"He had contacts in all these three ministries-we came to know so far," he added.
Lokesh was working with a Noida-based energy consultant firm 'Infraline'.
Meanwhile, Lokesh has been sent to five-day police custody.
With this, the number of people arrested in this corporate espionage case has reached 13.
