China's deputy editor-in-chief of Aerospace Knowledge magazine has said that modern fighter jets from the country could help developing nations that cannot afford advanced fifth generation fighter jets.
According to the China Daily, Wang Ya'nan said that many developing countries' air forces have neither requirement to launch distant airstrikes nor do they have menace from stealth aircraft.
He said that The FC-1 Fierce Dragon can have a meeting with the air defense tasks of most developing countries that cannot afford fifth-generation fighter jets.
The FC-1 Fierce Dragon is a fourth-generation, lightweight multirole fighter jet developed by Aviation Industry Corp of China with assistance from Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, the leading aviation company in Pakistan.
Wang said the aircraft has a great potential for improvement as China has gained rich expertise and experience in the fields of composite materials, engines and avionics that can be adopted on the FC-1.
