Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said that the government has adopted a single window clearance approach so that the schemes under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) can take-off quickly and in a hassle-free manner.

Addressing a conference in Chandigarh followed by a review meeting on the progress of schemes related to the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Naidu said, "The interest subvention of 6.5 percent has being given by the centre in housing against Haryana's demand for 8.97 lakh houses."

He further asserted that Haryana State Government has assured that it is at an advanced stage of notifying the rules and setting up the Authority/Tribunal under the Real Estate Regulations Act. (RERA).

"Under Deendayal Antodaya Yojana, National Urban livelihood mission (DAY-NULM), 22 urban local bodies have been covered in the state. 294 Urban SHGs provided revolving funds. Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has sanctioned eight schemes with a total loan amount of Rs. 4448 crore in Haryana. All the three plans worth Rs., 2565 crores under AMRUT in the state have been approved," Naidu added.

The minister while deliberating upon National Infrastructure Development Projects said that 11 cities in Haryana are now as Open Defecation Free (ODF) under Swachh Bharat Mission.

"To achieve the objective of constructing 1, 10, 000 Individual Household latrines (IHHLs) work has commenced on 31702 IHHLs and 19,345 units have been completed till date."

The minister also informed that the Government of India has released its second tranche of Rs. 96 crores towards Smart City Mission for Faridabad.

The minister asked the concerned authorities to examine the possibility of launching Haryanvi language news bulletin and other programmes and said that projection of developmental activities should be the main theme of the content put out by the field offices.

In his review of the departments of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naidu said that the field units should focus more on the local culture and local talent. They should also bring the beneficiaries of various government schemes on the forefront and should not remain fixated on political or bureaucratic figures only.

Naidu also reviewed the status of Metro projects in Haryana state especially the Narela-Kundali sector, Badarpur-Escort Mujesar and Badarpur-Mahilpur.
