Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer, who has recovered from his back injury, will kick start his grass-court season when he takes on American teenager Taylor Fritz in the second round of Stuttgart Open.
It will be for the first time when Federer will play in Stuttgart as he ramps up his preparation for the upcoming third major of the season namely, Wimbledon.
Meanwhile, Fritz earned the chance to face his hero Federer after claiming a 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 win over Fabrice Martin of France,Sport24 reported.
The 18-year-old said that that he had never thought of facing the 17-time Grand Slam champion, insisting that it would be exciting to play against him in the court.
Earlier, Federer withdrew from the French Open after failing to recover from the injury, thus ending a run of 65 consecutive appearances at Grand Slam tournament.
