A massive forest fire broke out in Manjakote near Jammu-Poonch highway forest areas last night.
The Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department sent a team of fire fighters to douse the flames in the area.
"We are trying our best to douse the flame. The condition is very bad as there is difficulty in going there by vehicles," fire service in-charge Mohammad Aslam told ANI.
There has been no report of casualty yet.
"This is our forest and it should be saved. The smoke is causing suffocation and nothing can be seen," Shezad Qazmi, a local resident told ANI.
The incident took place days after a forest fire broke out in Doda district.
