Top boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has said that he has been the most dominating boxer in the last seventeen years and that he fights to please himself and not the fans.
According to the Guardian, Mayweather has now generated nearly 13 million buys in his 11 pay-per-view fights, representing approximately three-quarters of a billion dollars in revenue, greater than the GDP of some countries.
The boxer said that there was possibly no other boxer who took less punishment than him and who had been a world champion for 16 years.
Mayweather said that Muhammad Ali fought for the people but he fought to please himself first and for self-preservation, adding that he could have knocked out Canelo in their recent fight in the eighth round but could have also taken punishment.
He also said that he does not know for how long he will continue to be in the ring, claiming that some days he felt it would be four more fights and on some days, six.
