Former Judge of Supreme Court Justice Ibrahim Kalifullah inaugurates school of law at Crescent University

Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifullah, Former Judge of Supreme Court, has today (Sep 20, 2017) inaugurated a new School of Law inside B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent University (BSACU) campus at Vandalur and delivered the inaugural Address.

Justice K.N. Basha, Former Judge of Madras High Court and Former Chairman, Intellectual Property Appellate Board, was the Guest of Honour. Justice G.M. Akbar Ali, Former Judge of Madras High Court, offered felicitation.

Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Sri Prof. Lr., Dr. Sahol Amid Bin Abu Bakar; Vice Chancellor; Mr. Abdul Qadir A. Rahman Buhari, Chairman; Arif B. Rahman and Mr. Syed Mohammed Bukhari, Members of Board of Management and Dr. Syed Masood Jamali, Dean, School of Islamic Studies, of BSACU, were present.

Aimed at producing able and competent law graduates and to cater to growing demand for legal professionals, the Crescent School of Law offers integrated programmes of five year B.Com LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons). The sanctioned strength of each programme is 120 with two sections of 60 each.

Aspirants with Plus II (Intermediate) qualification are eligible to pursue the programmes and will get a professional degree after successful completion of five years of study and can enroll as Advocates with Bar Council of India. The courses spread across ten semesters with five subjects a semester.

"There is demand for legal professionals in the Corporate and Business world and these five year programmes, the University offers are sure to meet the requirements, equipping students with required knowledge and skills to excel in the field of law," said Mr. Abdul Qadir A. Rahman Buhari.

"To enable students have practical exposure and real-time experience in the field of Law, the courses have been designed in such a way that there is right balance between theory and practicals with due emphasis on presentation skills and MOOT court practice. In all the even semesters the students need to undergo practical internship programme in all the four years. Apart from this our Crescent Law School is planning to conduct field visits, extension lectures and groups discussions to impart the skills of court-craft to the learners," he added.

Dr. P.V. Nagendra Sarma with two decades of experience in the field of teaching law and who has served as Principal of different law colleges in Andhra and Telangana States is heading the teaching faculty as Dean.
