Former Nepal PM Bhattarai urges all to accept new Constitution

Former Nepali prime minister and Naya Shakti Nepal coordinator Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that all should accept the new Constitution as it was drafted with hard efforts.

Formally declaring the Naya Shakti as a new political party, he urged all to work for implementation of the Constitution.

He, however, said that rights of Madhesi, indigenous, Janajatis, women and impoverished community should be ensured through an amendment to the Constitution.

Asserting that a stable government was the need of the hour, he said that a provision should be introduced to elect the President through a direct election system.

He was of the opinion that national sovereignty and independence should be safeguarded while striking balanced relations between neighbours India and China.
