Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, has reportedly said that Malaysians are "stupid" and that they do not know how to run an airline.
Mohamad's remarks come following news than a German is set to assume the role of Malaysian Airlines' chief executive.
According to The Independent, Malaysian news site Malaysiakini reported Mohamad as saying: "Malaysians are stupid. They don't know how to manage aviation,"
The Malaysian government has announced that Christoph Mueller, the current chief executive of Ireland's Aer Lingus, will be taking charge of the national carrier.
