At least four people were killed and several others injured after a three-storey building collapsed in Dr. Zakir Hussain area of West Bengal's Darjeeling city in the wee hours of Friday.
The situation garnered prompt response from district officials along with fire brigade who rushed to the spot for the rescue operation and to clear debris.
At least 10 people, reportedly, were pulled out of the rubble and the remaining six have been admitted to hospital.
According to locals, the incident occurred at 10 p.m. when they heard a loud noise and saw the people being trapped inside the debris.
Afterwards army and a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been called to carry out the rescue operation and clear debris.
