Congress leader Arvinder Singh Lovely on Monday said the verdict of the Delhi Cantonment Board elections clearly indicates that his party is yet again improving its position in the national capital and added the Gujarat model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed here.
"People of Delhi Cantonment have given answer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his rally. Cantonment is an area where people never used to vote for Congress, now there is a difference of only 700 votes between BJP and us, AAP is a distant third. The Gujarat model has failed in Delhi," Lovely said.
The Delhi Cantonment Board election for eight seats was held on Sunday with BJP, AAP and Congress being the three major parties contesting the polls.
According to reports, the BJP has won five seats while the Congress won two and the AAP won just one seat.
