In the wee hours of Wednesday, the Army in a joint operation with the Assam Police busted an NDFB(S) camp and neutralised one of its hardcore terrorists in Ripu Reserve Forest in Lalbhita area in Kokrajhar district.
The operation was carefully planned and launched swiftly, wherein the elite troops moved in a tactical manner and closed in on the camp, said an army statement.
The slain terrorist was allegedly involved in numerous cases of extortion, money collection, providing administrative support to the banned organisation and other subversive activities.
The terrorist was allegedly also involved in the December 23, 2014 massacre, in which more than 76 people were killed in a series of attacks by the militants.
One AK - 56, along with a magazine and 30 live rounds, were seized from the slain terrorist.
