India's largest two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp has launched its first in-house designed motorcycle, 'Splendor iSmart 110' here.

Built on a completely new chassis and frame, the bike has been developed at company's Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The Splendor iSmart 110 features include a BSIV compliant new engine, which offers more power with a higher fuel economy. The stylish motorcycle is loaded with an array of utility features, which makes riding experience convenient.

"There is a huge amount of work going on there, which you will see over the next many many months and many quarters starting with the festive season, of course, we have started today. You will see stuff coming out during the festive seasons, post festive season and over the years thereafter," said Hero MotoCorp Ltd chairman and Managing Director, Pawan Munjal.

He also said that he was confident about the hardware used in the motorcycle, which has been developed using Hero's own technology.

The bike is priced at INR 53,000 (792.58 USD) and will be available in four exciting colour schemes-Silver and Black, Red and Black, Blue and Black and Sports Red.

With the introduction of the new Splendor ismart 110, Hero Motocorp, which is already the dominant leader in the commuter motorcycle segment, aims to further augment its undisputed leadership in the category.
