People are most likely to call their wedding day as the best day of their life, but do you know that your love for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook can ruin your blessed day?

Bridal Coach Rachael Bentick told News.com.au that social media can turn a joyful day into a catastrophic one with just a single tweet or unflattering photo.

Bentick has compiled a list of guidelines for the wedding guests as well as the bride and groom for the prefect wedding.

She advises guests not to post wedding pics on any social media site until the couple gives the green light, and to stop acting like the paparazzi.

Guests should also avoid getting in the photographer's way, Bentick said.

For the married couple-to-be, Bentick suggests that they should avoid telling people that they can't take photos of themselves at the wedding and increase the security on Facebook so that their wedding pics can be viewed by people of their choosing.

Lastly, Bentick advises that couples should provide their guests with a 'wedding day hashtag' if they are sure that their guests will post photos from the wedding even if they are told not to, so that they can keep an eye on it.
