Australian batsman Phillip Hughes's best friend has revealed that she received a final touching message from the cricketer shortly before his shocking passing.
The Australian batsman, whose funeral took place on Wednesday, texted his best friend Meagan Simpson while she was holidaying in Hawaii. He wrote, 'Love u... miss you... love u... miss you.'
Simpson revealed that Hughes was the best friend anyone could ask for, adding that whenever she needed him he was there, The Daily Star reported.
Simpson said that Hughes had been cheeky and funny and always made one laugh. She claimed that she sill doesn't know how she got so lucky to have him as a friend; adding that the late batsman obviously saw something in her.
The 25-year-old passed away after being struck on the back of the head by a bouncer during a domestic cricket match at Sydney's SCG, the report added.
