Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Saturday congratulated the Indian Women Cricket team on registering an emphatic win against New Zealand and booking a semi-final berth in the ongoing ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
CoA chairman Vinod Rai said, "I want to extend my heartiest congratulations to Team India's on staging a remarkable comeback in the ICC World Cup. The team can be very proud of what they have achieved."
Rai also congratulated skipper Mithali Raj, for scoring a match-winning hundred against the Kiwis in the must-win game.
"This victory will go a long way in boosting our team's confidence with the ICC World Cup title in sight," he added.
Member of CoA Diana Edulji said, "This is a result of Team India (Women's) dedicated effort, which has translated into a series of successful performances. I am pleased with the kind of comeback the team has staged in the tournament."
"A special mention to Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy and Rajeshwari Gayakwad for displaying scintillating performances in a crunch game," she added.
The CoA also wished the team good luck for their semi-final match against Australia on July 20.
